Alison Wright (born in England) is an English actor. Her best-known role is as Martha Hanson in the FX the spy-themed period series The Americans. She received both critical praise and nominations for the Primetime Emmy Award for this. In addition, she has appeared in Ryan Murphy's cult series Feud - Bette & Joan & Hollywood. Wright was born on July 12, 1976 at Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, where she was raised by her adoptive parents. She began dancing and acting at a young age. She was educated at New York City's Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute and The Barrow Group. In the auditions she took to be cast in roles, she was a waitress. While scuba diving at sea - a hobby of hers - she had a cardiac attack which put her victim in a state that was similar to one in a state of coma. She passed away peacefully just six days later, surrounded by her loved ones who had travelled to the hospital to be at her bedside. Wright was born in Sunderland native, born on 12th July, 1976.
